We have a pair of beautiful, in-the-box, Restoration Hardware sconces for sale on the site this week.   At $100 for the pair, they are a steal.

They would work well in a variety of rooms, but we like them best for a living room.  If you need lighting, but you are not sure what you would pair with these two, here is a little inspiration along with our shopping list.

Office Decor Do-Over

My home office is pathetic.  It is located in a former porch that was enclosed by a previous owner.  It appears that it was a weekend DIY project because there is no insulation and the electrical work is makeshift, at best.  It is always 10 degrees warmer in my office than it is in the rest of our house.  So, while I am very happy to have a space of my own, it is in need of a major do-over and will be addressed during our renovation.
The good news is that in addition to a structural update, I will also be able to update the decor.  There are only two existing pieces that I plan to keep:  the Sarah Lamp from Stray Dog Designs (available here), which is one of my favorite pieces ever, and a West Elm white parsons desk (available here).

Clearly, I need many things.  I want to keep the big pieces neutral and add a few accent pieces to make it a little more interesting.  I love white, but it can start to feel too stark without a natural element.  I think the pieces below would do a nice job of combatting the stark feeling that I am trying to avoid.

Now for the accents.  If you have ever read one of my posts, you know I love orange.  So, I can’t resist bringing a little in.  What else?  A gray patterned drape and a gold-toned side table (to add a little bling and tie into the chandelier tone).

We have a long way to go with the construction, but I can hardly wait until it is time to start decorating.

Dining With Style: Spring Tabletop

Tory Burch, Lettuce Ware

The new Lettuce Ware by Dodie Thayer for Tory Burch (available here) got me thinking about my own spring table.  Each spring, I love finding tabletop accent plates and bowls to liven up my plain white dinnerware.  This year, there are many, many great options.  From whimsical, to bold, to pastel ikat – it is difficult to pick just one.  Here are a few of my favorites.
