Sometimes you don’t need to go through a total “gut” renovation to get the look you want. That was the case for this San Francisco condo; the bones were good, the layout was fine, and the appliances were nice. Rather than fix things that were not broken, the family simply wanted more storage, more of a connection to the family room (on the other side of the table shown below), and a lighter and brighter space. There were a couple of constraints: the timeframe was tight and the family planned to live in the house during the renovation. So, how did the homeowners accomplish their goals? A six-week kitchen facelift. They lightened things up, created an “open” concept, and added a pantry in an area that was not fully utilized. Stay tuned for the “after” photos tomorrow.
